Linktree is adding a way for users to monetize the content they share on their page.
The new Payment Lock feature will allow creators to put a paywall in front of certain content, such as digital files, links toPinterest mood boards, or even calendar meeting slots The creators can charge up to $150 per piece.
The paywalling feature isn't available to Linktree users on the free plan. The company wouldn't confirm on the record, but they don't seem to be taking a cut at the moment.
Link trees are a common sight on social media profiles where it is difficult to get people to other pages. Link-in-bio tools are used by creators to direct fans to their other pages, share articles, and add contact details. The link-in-bio company has introduced more creator tools for its landing pages in the last few months.
In July, the company collaborated with TikTok, allowing them to put a selection of their videos on their Linktree page, almost like a sizzle reel of their work that may attract followers and brand partners.
