A bounce-back season from TeoscarHernandez is what the SeattleMariners are banking on.

The 30-year-old outfielder has been acquired by the SeattleMariners. According to Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times, there is a deal in the works that will send the pitcher to the other side.

There will be a boost to Toronto's relief workers. In 57 appearances last season, the right-handed pitcher had a 1.68 earned run, 70 strikeouts and 3 homers allowed.

The 10th-best prospect in Seattle's farm system was Macko. The left-handed pitcher was drafted in the seventh round. He didn't pitch after May 21 because of an injury, but he struck out 60 with a 3.99ERA in 38.1% of his relief work.

It was not a good season for the man. He hit 25 homers and drove in 77 runs in 131 games. His 127 OPS+ was the third highest of his career, but it was a step down from the previous two years.

In the next two years, he had a slash line of.295/.345/.538 with 84 extra- base hits. He was a member of the American League All-Star team in 2021.

While he's coming off a down year, it's surprising to see a Blue Jays team with playoff ambitions move on from him. He is expected to get a salary of $14.5 million in the final season of bargaining.

The addition ofHernandez will allow theMariners to tinker with their lineup. Center field will continue to be handled by the newly crowned American League Freshman of the Year.

Jesse Winker has been a below average defender. According to FanGraphs, Winker had the ninth-worst defensive value rating.

The Seattle right fielder is a free agent. The acquisition ofHernandez seems to indicate that theMariners are moving on from Haniger.

He has been below average with the glove for most of his career and can play both corner outfield spots. Over the past five years, he has been an above average hitter. This is a great buy-low acquisition for a team that just ended a 21-year playoff drought.
