It must be great to work for Musk.
The self-proclaimed Chief twit who recently fired half of the workforce now has demands for the people who are still there.
In an email seen by The Washington Post, and first reported on by Gergely Orosz, Musk asked employees to commit to "an extremely hardcore" newTwitter.
The recipients had to click a "yes" link in the email to keep their jobs.
"Only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade," Musk said in the email.
The email, which was sent on Wednesday morning, came shortly after another ultimatum by Musk, which required employees to go back to work or resign.
Less than a year after taking the reins at the company, Musk laid off half of the company's employees. Some of the people who were fired were people who criticized Musk. The layoffs have been so chaotic that some people were asked to come back.
Musk's strategy of rapidly introducing new features has backfired in a number of ways. Musk's decision to start charging for the blue checkmark caused a flurry of fake news and impersonations, which led to the suspension of the feature.
