The first active male basketball player currently playing in a top tier league has come out as gay.

He addressed his teammates in the locker room in a moving video.

He said that it was a truth about himself that he had wanted to hide for a long time.

I know I can reveal myself as a gay man and still play sports.

He is the first Australian male basketball player to be openly gay in the NBA.

He told his team-mates that he had tried to take his own life, but that he was now comfortable opening up to his teammates.

He said that he figured out a lot about himself during the off-season.

If I joined a team and started a season, I would have to reveal who I am.

I have been through a lot but I am happy with who I am.

After he spoke to his team-mates in the video, he was embraced by his teammates.

The NBA said it was proud and grateful to be able to share his story.

"We know the real impact his honesty and courage will have on many others. Isaac has our unwavering respect and support," a statement read.

The statement praised Humphries.

At the club, we love him. It's great that he feels comfortable here, and we're proud of him.

He joined the Melbourne team in July after playing for the 36ers and Magic in Australia.

He is the second male basketball player in as many years to come out as gay while on the court.

Josh Cavallo was the first male professional footballer to come out as gay.

Jake Daniels is the only openly gay professional footballer in the UK.
