Lindsey Graham stopped short of endorsing Donald Trump for president.
Graham praised Trump for offering solutions to "restore a broken America".
Graham wrote that if President Trump continued this tone and delivered this message on a consistent basis, he would be hard to beat.
He said that his speech tonight showed a winning path for him in the primaries and general election.
Graham didn't give Trump a full-throated endorsement right away.
Gaetz had a photo of him with the former president. Just one minute after Trump's announcement, she endorsed him with the caption: "We will make America great again!"
On the same day that he told reporters at the Capitol that most people in the Republican conference would "prefer" if Trump held off on announcing his candidacy, Graham hesitated.
Graham thinks that Trump shouldn't announce tonight.
Graham told reporters on Tuesday that he wouldn't comment on Trump's candidacy until after the Georgia election. If Herschel Walker is elected to the Senate, it will be based on that vote.
Graham said he wouldn't be doing anything until after December 6.
Graham's representative didn't respond to Insider's request for comment as to whether Graham would endorse Trump soon.
Graham is still a Trump ally. Graham said on CNBC that he thought Trump had a good chance of winning the election.
"I'm telling you what I say to him," Graham said. The history of who you are and what you have done will change dramatically if you lose again. It will be one of the best political comebacks in American history if you return. Four more years will allow you to do big things.
Trump has a history of running for president. For the past two years, he has baselessly claimed that the election he lost to Biden was stolen from him.
Two years before the election, he made a announcement. He is the first Republican to enter the race.
The Federal Elections Commission has received the paperwork for Trump's run.
