It was NASA's first spacewalk in March.

The International Space Station had an extravehicular activity lasting 7 hours and 11 minutes that ended on Tuesday afternoon.

Six weeks after the pair arrived at the outpost, they made their first spacewalks.

At one point, NASA posted a spectacular view of Earth captured by Cassada's helmet camera, with the caption "We love an office with a view."

The installation of a mount on the starboard side of the station was one of the main objectives completed by the pair.

Since the International Space Station went into operation just over two decades ago, there have been more than 250 spacewalks in support of space station assembly, upgrades, and maintenance.

Spacewalk pause

The spacewalk program was halted by NASA eight months ago due to an incident in which the helmet of a German astronaut became damp.

NASA suspended spacewalks on the International Space Station while it conducted an investigation to find out what happened.

The spacesuit did not show any issues and officials believed that the condensation was caused by the cooling settings on the spacesuit. Engineers changed the design of the suit to make sure that any excess water that comes out of a spacewalk is absorbed.

All spacewalks at the International Space Station were called off because of NASA's halt to proceedings. Five spacewalks have taken place since the beginning of the year.

On Tuesday, November 29, and Saturday, December 3, there will be two spacewalks by NASA.
