It would make sense for Apple to buy processors in the U.S. since it would make up a significant portion of the company's supply chain.

Cook said that the company would be buying out a plant in Arizona and that the plant would start up in 24.

The single factory in Arizona will focus on chips that use the latest manufacturing technology. The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company said earlier this month that it is planning a second chip factory in Arizona.
