The injury-plagued season of Shaquille Leonard has ended.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Indianapolis Colts LB had season-ending back surgery on Tuesday with the hope that it will fix his issue for good.

Leonard played in three games due to injuries. He didn't play in the first three games because of a back problem. He left the game in the second quarter with a concussion after making his debut.

Leonard came back against the Washington Commanders. In the next two games, he only played 58 snaps. He was ruled out of the win over the Las Vegas Raiders with injuries.

Leonard had a back surgery five months ago. He had an operation in June to remove two of his discs that were putting pressure on his sciatic nerve.

He had issues that limited his availability during the season due to the procedure not working as expected.

Leonard told The Athletic last week that he sees himself moving around better but it's still not there. It's just a lot of film study because the nerve isn't firing into my calf The reason I can play today is because of how much film I have watched, and I need to put myself in position to make a play.
