Tyson Fury and and Derek Chisora
Fury will face Chisora instead of Joshua in December, eight months on from his win over Dillian Whyte

"I need to fight Anthony Joshua before I retire," he said.

In September, negotiations over a potential bout between the two teams broke down.

The fight for the title will be held in London on 3 December.

"I don't think I can retire today because I need that Joshua fight," Fury said on the High Performance Podcast.

For a long time, we have been trying to make that happen. People want to watch the fight. I would like to see the fight as a boxing fan.

After Joshua's defeat in a second fight against Oleksandr Usyk in August, discussions over a possible fight between the two were held.

Shortly after the fight, Joshua accepted a challenge from Fury on social media and said he would be ready in December.

Both parties blamed one another for the fight not happening.

The third meeting between the two will be between Chisora and Fury at the Spurs stadium.

In his second fight against Deontay Wilder, he won the The Ring belt which he later relinquished.

After his first defeat by Usyk, Joshua held on to his remaining titles.

In the past year, British heavyweights Joe Joyce and Daniel Dubois have both earned statement wins in the division, with Joyce defeating JosephParker in September and Daniel Dubois defeatingTrevor Bryan in June.

He says Joshua remains his top priority despite all the possible bouts for him in the future.

"For the last four or five years, there has been this three-headed monster: me, Wilder, Joshua."

I'm the last one left. All of a sudden, you've got some new people at the party.

It's like, 'can you beat this person?' because there's a lot of new blood that wasn't there five years ago.

If we didn't fight in this era, it would be a travesty.
