Virgin Atlantic's gender-neutral uniform policy doesn't apply to the crew on the England team's flight to the World Cup, according to the airline.

In September, the airline said it would allow staff to choose their uniforms no matter their gender.

The crew will not be able to choose their uniforms on Tuesday.

The plane would be used for the trip.

There has been criticism of the treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and queer people in the country.

The tournament will be open to all fans.

Virgin Atlantic explained why the gender-neutral uniform policy did not apply to Tuesday's flight.

The UK, US and Israel are the territories where the uniform policy is being rolled out for our people.

The new policy was announced in a press release, but there was no mention of this caveat.

The airline said that a plane displaying an LGBT icon was selected for the charter flight.

The A350 plane, named "Rain Bow" and carrying the image of a man holding a union flag and wearing shoes with a rainbow theme on its fuselage, was used to fly the team to the competition.

TheFA said that it was more than happy to fly on the plane.

Footballers, including England captain Harry Kane, have taken a stand in support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and queer community.

Even if it is not approved for use by the governing body of the World Cup, Kane will still wear his One Love rainbow captain armband.

The One Love Armband is one way the FA shows its support for inclusion.

The progress in ensuring the safety of LGBT fans has been slow, and the reassurances from Qatar have not been adequate, according to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transexual (LGBT) organisation.

James Cleverly advised gay fans to show a little bit of flexibility if they travel to the tournament.

Fans travelling from England and Wales should be respectful of the host nation according to Mr Cleverly.

The official spokesman for the Prime Minister said that gay fans shouldn't compromise who they are if they go to the World Cup.

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said he wouldn't attend the tournament because of the human rights record of the country.

Mark Drakeford is expected to attend.

The England team is expected to arrive at their base in the early hours of the morning of the 26th of November.

The legal status of homosexuality is set out in the World Cup travel advice from the UK.

The first game of the tournament will be between the two countries. On November 21st, England will play Iran.

The gender-neutral uniform policy was announced by Virgin Atlantic in September.

The policy is part of a campaign to allow lesbian, gay, and bisexual staff and passengers to express themselves.
