Breeze Airways has three new destinations in a month.

The 35th dot on Breeze's route map is Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

The airline will begin nonstop service to New Orleans on February 16. Breeze will become the third destination from RDU.

Breeze plans to add flights to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and the Vero Beach Regional Airport.

Less than a week after Avelo announced it would do the same, Breeze announced it would do the same. The first flights of Avelo will begin in February.

The airlines will not directly compete on any of the routes. There are two airports in Connecticut.

Southwest does offer seasonal nonstop service between RDU and New Orleans during the winter, but it is not scheduled to fly on the same day as Breeze.

The service between Pittsburgh and New Orleans will be added by Breeze. There will be nonstop service between Pittsburgh and Hartford in February.

Breeze said it would be able to take advantage of markets hungry for more service.

Breeze president Tom Doxey said in a statement that they always look for underserved routes where they can add nonstop flights, low fares and their brand of seriously Nice service. We are happy to announce service from Raleigh-Durham, our 35th city, to three of our bases.

  • Hartford: Begins Feb. 16; two weekly flights (Thursday and Sunday).
  • New Orleans: Begins Feb. 16; four weekly flights (Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday).
  • Providence: Begins Feb. 17; two weekly flights (Monday and Friday)
