After the Arizona gubernatorial candidate lost to her opponent by a slim margin on Monday evening, Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney lashed out at her.

Cheney ran ads against Lake and said she would vote for a Democrat if she lived in Arizona. Lake was endorsed by Donald Trump.

Lake thanked the Wyoming congresswoman for her anti-endorsement in a sarcastic letter. She claimed that in the wake of the attack ad, donations to her campaign skyrocketed and her website almost crashed.

Lake said thank you to Liz Cheney.

On Monday evening, after Hobbs was called the winner of the Arizona governor race by a.822 percentage point margin, Cheney posted a succinct retort to the letter on social media.

Cheney was defeated in her primary election by a candidate who supported Trump. Hageman won the election with over half of the vote. After results indicated that she was losing the race, Lake called Arizona the laughing stock of elections.

After the election was called for her opponent, Lake doubled down on her criticism of her state's voting system.

Representatives for Cheney and Lake didn't respond to Insider's questions.
