The Raiders lost to the Colts. It takes 2 minutes.

After a shocking 25-20 loss to the Indianapolis Colts that dropped the Las Vegas Raiders' record to 2-7, coach Josh McDaniels said he would stay the course.

In his Monday media conference, he said that they are building. I've never used the word rebuilding. There's not a lot of time to do that.

We are trying to go through a process. It's slower and more painful than anyone would want it to be.

In recent weeks, McDaniels said he had not been reassured of his status by Raiders owner Mark Davis, but he will still try to build a foundation for the future.

"I'm going to control what I can control and do the best I can at my job, and part of that is continuing to think about the future and next year and what goes on beyond the next few months here," he stated.

My time is done if someone tells me that.

Expectations were high for Las Vegas after its unlikely run to a 14-7 finish and the playoffs last season under interim coach Rich Bisaccia and general manager Mike Mayock.

The Raiders started the year with a 0-3 record. After winning two of three, they were shut out by the New Orleans Saints and blew a 17-7 lead at the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"We don't want to do anything other than win every game, and we will continue to do that," he said. I understand the short term history of this place. They talked to me about it, trying to get something together that can last and sustain and win and win and win. We know that we are not doing enough. We wanted to figure out what is going to be part of the future and what isn't. The way we proceed going forward is going to affect that.

There are some things that you're going to see initially and some things that you're going to see over time. It's the chance that you're hoping for when you have enough time to make those evaluations.

In Las Vegas, the goal is to have a culture and the kind of people on the team that try to uphold that year after year.

I'm aware of the short term frustration. I'm aware of it. I definitely do.
