If you get angry when you hear the term "white privilege", let me explain it to you. It doesn't mean that white people don't have problems. White people enjoy advantages because of the color of their skin. We don't blame you for the problem. When it happens so often, we want you to own it and acknowledge it.

There used to be a way for coaches to go about their work. Black people used to be able to become a head coach if they were a defensive coordinators. When an emphasis was placed on the offensive side of the ball, Kansas City's Eric Bieniemy and Tampa'sByron Leftwich are still waiting for their chance. There were two paths to success for white coaches, one of which was to be a respected veteran with experience, and the other was to be a young innovative mind that was a copy of a successful coach.

The ladder of success for all coaches in the NFL was broken when Jeff Saturday defeated Josh McDaniels. Being the guy that an owner likes the most without knowing what those characteristics are is the focus. You could be an assistant on the sideline or on the TV. Despite the lack of experience you may have and how crazy all of this may sound, you will likely win your first game due to the way that owners are hiring coaches.
