The congressman trashed the former president in a new interview.

It would be a bad mistake for the Republicans to have Donald Trump as their nominee, as he will announce his candidacy on Tuesday, according to Al.com.

He said that.

“Donald Trump has proven himself to be dishonest, disloyal, incompetent, crude and a lot of other things that alienate so many independents and Republicans. Even a candidate who campaigns from his basement can beat him.”

The last line is a reference to a common Republican attack on President Joe Biden during the 2020 election.

At the Jan. 6 rally, he urged the crowd to stop at the Capitol, repeating the former president's false accusations of election fraud.

They tried to stop the certification of the presidential election, but they were unsuccessful.

The mob attacked even as many of his colleagues fled in fear, according to Ryan O'Toole, who was an aide to Kevin McCarthy.

He was endorsed by Trump for the US Senate seat from Alabama.

Voters were told to put the 2020 election behind them. Earlier this year, he said Trump had asked him to take Biden out of office and return him to power.

He told Trump that there was no provision in the constitution for that.

Trump claimed that the far-right lawmaker had gone to sleep.

When his term ends in January, he will no longer be a member of the House.
