  • George does not believe Ron will run for president.

  • He didn't think there was any upside for DeSantis to get into a fight with Trump.

  • He said that it's more likely that the 44-year-old will be the next president.

George said he doesn't think Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will run for president.

A fight with the former president would be brutal, and that's why I think he's going to reconsider a 2024 run.

"If you want to take on Trump, you have to go after him hammer and tong, and he's going to go back," said Kellyanne Conway, who is married to Trump aide. The mud fest will end all mud fests. I don't see why he would want to do that.

Even if he succeeds in ousting Trump, he will end up with a lot of angry Republicans.

The 44-year-old is young enough to wait for an opportune moment, rather than go into an all-out fight against the president in the next election in four years.

"He's not as crazy as Trump."

He believed that the newly re-elected Florida governor would continue to raise money and build a massive warchest. He thought that DeSantis would leave open the possibility of running, then wait until the race in 2028 to be the GOP's leader.

The leading candidates for the Republican presidential ticket in 2024 are Trump and DeSantis.

The battle lines for the GOP nomination could be drawn by Trump.

The week before, Trump called the governor an "average Republican governor". He referred to him as "Ron DeSanctimonious" after accusing him of disloyalty.

In September, Kellyanne said that the former president was eager to announce his candidacy. An announcement would be made in a very short period of time, said Trump at the rally.

In a debate in October, he didn't say he would serve four years as Florida's governor. Insider was told in July that the governor is running for reelection this year.

Representatives for Trump's post-presidential press office did not respond to Insider's questions.
