A man in Georgia has been arrested for training 106 pit bulls for dog fighting.

The Paulding County Sheriff's Office arrested a man at his home in Atlanta on Tuesday for his alleged involvement in a dog fighting operation.

Unvaccinated pit bulls were found at the suspect's home that were left outside for days on end and tied to trees or metal stumps. Police said that some of the pit bulls were very aggressive towards other dogs.

The smell of urine and feces made it difficult for authorities to enter the home.

The sheriff's office said that the conditions where dogs were being housed, both inside and on the exterior of the property, were not fit for humans.

Authorities took the dogs to rescue facilities.

The man was charged with felony counts of animal abuse and dog fighting. He is being held at the jail without bond.

As of Sunday, it wasn't clear if he has an attorney.

The sheriff's office and the marshal's bureau are investigating after securing several search warrants for the home of Burrell. The suspect is expected to be indicted over a hundred more times.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the detectives.
