How USC and LSU can reach the playoff (1:51)

There is a path to the playoffs for USC and LSU. There is a time and a place for it.

1:56 PM ET

The rest of the Top 25 was shuffled after eight ranked teams lost and two big upsets in the Pacific-12.

For the second week in a row, the bulldogs received all but one of the first place votes. The other first place vote went to Ohio State.

The top five remained the same after victories Saturday, with only the Frogs facing a real threat.

Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan and Tennessee all won by large margins.

The rest of the top 10 lost ground due to home losses by Oregon and UCLA. Both LSU and USC moved up in the rankings.

Two top 10 teams lost at home on the same weekend in the same year.

Alabama moved up two spots this week after falling to a season low last week. The top 10 was changed three times, with Utah moving up to the 10th spot.

There are poll points.

Georgia is close to setting a school record.

When they won the national title for the first time in 41 years last season, the bulldogs matched their total from the previous season of nine top spots.

In the history of the AP poll, Georgia has been at the top for 33 times, one behind Michigan.

Georgia Tech is the opponent for the last game of the regular season. They will go into the SEC championship game against LSU as the country's top ranked team.

In.

The only team making its season debut this week is Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers have made it to the Top 25 in each of the last three seasons.

It is back in. The American Athletic Conference has three ranked teams, a season high, thanks to the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Oklahoma State snapped a two-game losing streak by defeating Iowa State.

The 25th ranked Oregon State is also back. After breaking a nine-year streak in the polls two weeks ago, the Beavers lost a close game at Washington and then dropped out on Sunday.

Out.

Unranked for the first two polls, Texas moved in for two weeks in September, out for two weeks, and then came back for a week.

Illinois lost at home for the second time in a row.

NC State is unranked for the first time this season.

Liberty spent two weeks in the top 25. After winning at Arkansas, the Flames lost at Connecticut.

There is a conference call.

The Pac-12's hopes of getting a team into the College Football Playoff were dashed by the defeats of the Bruins and the Ducks. The conference now has more ranked teams than it did a year ago.

Pac-12: 6 (Nos. 7, 10, 12, 15, 16, 25) SEC: 5 (Nos. 1, 5, 6, 8, 14) ACC: 3 (Nos. 9, 13, 20) American: 3 (Nos. 17, 21, 22) Big Ten: 3 (Nos. 2, 3, 11) Big 12: 3 (Nos. 4, 19, 24) Sun Belt: 1 (No. 23)
