Fulham 1-2 Manchester United: Alejandro Garnacho scores dramatic injury-time winner

Alejandro Garnacho came on for Manchester United in the 93rd minute and scored the winning goal.

In the second half at Craven Cottage, the Cottagers looked to have earned a point before the teenager raced through and fired a shot into the bottom corner.

After David de Gea had made a number of fine saves, Dan James came off the bench to grab an equalising goal for the home side.

Christian Eriksen, who suffered a cardiac arrest during a Euro 2020 match for Denmark against Finland in June 2021, had put the visitors ahead in the first half.

The win by Garnacho gave United three points.

There will be no domestic top-flight matches until December because of the World Cup in the Middle East.

With a game in hand on Antonio Conte's side, the win leaves United fifth in the table.

In each of the previous five seasons, the Cottagers have either been promoted or demoted from the top flight, but are in a good position to end that run this time around.
