Independent voters are the ones who decide who's in charge because hardcore Democrats or Republicans don't vote for the other side.

While it's true that I've been under unfair and misleading attack for some time by leading Democrats, my motivation here is for centrist governance, which matches the interests of most Americans.

Musk has previously said he was socially liberal and fiscally conservative, but is adamant he is not a conservative.

The world's richest man only gave to the Democrats in 2015, but the next year he gave to the GOP.

Musk voted for Mayra Flores, who lost the seat five months later. The billionaire said that he had voted for the first time in his life.

He set up a political action committee that gave half of its $30,000 to Democrats and the rest to Republicans.
