A manager who rehired engineers after they lost their jobs criticized them on the internal messaging system.

The senior director of engineering's comments were posted on the anonymous forum Blind. The challenge will be this. The engineers I am bringing back are weak and lazy.

The manager said that they need to think of these people as just needing to be around until the knowledge transition is completed.

The manager's identity was confirmed by a source who spoke on condition of anonymity. The person's profile on the professional networking site showed that they had worked for the micro-messaging service.

Insider called the manager for comment.

According to Insider's source, the comments have caused a lot of debate on the platform.

The data journalist shared a picture of the messages on the internet.

Zo Schiffer, the managing editor of the tech-and-democracy focused newsletter Platformer, deleted her post after she said she didn't think naming someone at his level was necessary.

Insider asked users of Blind if they thought Musk would take action after the manager's comments.

60 people thought Musk would promote the manager, 56 thought he would do nothing, and 41 thought he would fire the individual.

A few days after Musk took control of the company, some employees were asked to return.

A request for comment by Insider was not responded to by the social network.
