West Ham 0-2 Leicester: Declan Rice says pressure on David Moyes is 'nonsense'

The captain of the Hammers says that any pressure on the manager after Saturday's loss is nonsense.

The Hammers have lost nine times this season, with four of those coming at the London Stadium, where they lost five times last season.

"If you look at the quality of players we have at the moment, we are underachieving."

Many supporters left the ground after James Maddison's opener was canceled out by Harvey Barnes as the players were booed at the end of the game.

When things are not going well, you need people to stick together and get on with it. We know we need to improve.

It was a bad week for the Hammers, who lost to Crystal Palace in the league and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on penalties.

"We're the players and we've got the quality so it's down to us to create the chances, to score the goals, to defend, and at the moment it's not swinging in our favour," Rice said.

'Moyes has been unbelievable'

With one win in their last five games, West Ham are one point above the bottom of the table.

They have failed to score in seven of their 15 games this season, the worst record of any side in the league.

After guiding the Hammers away from the bottom of the league in his second stint with the club, he has led them to sixth and seventh places in the league.

They qualified for the round of 16 in this year's Europa Conference League, finishing top of their group and reaching the semi-finals in their first season in the competition.

He hopes that fans will remember their recent achievements, even though he understands the boos.

"This club is used to being in the top six or seven in the last couple of years so I can empathise with the fans," said the manager.

Sometimes it's hard to remember what we've done, but I'm a manager and have been for a long time. You are always under pressure if you aren't doing so well.
