Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Pérez defeated Republican Joe Kent to win the 3rd congressional district race. The district will become a Democrat for the first time in 12 years.
Kent defeated Beutler in the August primary in Washington state. The 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump were led by Beutler.
Pérez tried to paint Kent as an extreme candidate with ties to the far right while campaigning as a moderate in support of reproductive rights.
Kent was vocal about his "America First" agenda and attended a rally in support of the January 6 rioters.
Pérez was one of the Democrats who defeated pro-impeachment incumbent congressman Peter Meijer.
There are some seats in the US House that are not called. Republicans need 8 in order to have a majority.
