Michigan on 'happy ride' after first 10-0 start since 2006

The University of Michigan has started the season with a perfect record for the third time in the last 40 years.

The last time Michigan was perfect through its first 10 games was under Lloyd Carr in 2006 and the last time the team won a national title was in 1997.

After the 2020 season, there were questions about whether or not Jim Harbaugh would remain as Michigan's head coach.

Each week, we're trying to go 0-1. I am proud of the team. Harbaugh said that the players deserved the most credit. It's fun because they've worked so hard and it's such a tight knit group. We are on a happy ride.

It's a mission, but it's enjoyable. Not a single person has any kind of fear to it. It's enjoyable.

Michigan lost to Michigan State and the Big Ten title to Iowa in Harbaugh's first year as coach. Michigan avenged its loss to the Spartans this season and now faces off against Ohio State. It could be the first time in seven years that the teams are both perfect for The Game.

The Ohio State vs Maryland game will be played before the Michigan game. Just yet, Michigan isn't looking at the other team.

There are still questions surrounding the pass game but a big part of the team's success has been on the ground. In the past 15 seasons, only three Big Ten players have had at least one touchdown in each of their first 10 games.

Over the past 25 years, Corum has had seven straight games with 100 or more rushing yards and a touchdown. Despite the heavy workload, Corum is more than capable of continuing through the last two games.

I could play for a long time. Corum said that he's feeling great. I just keep getting better. I take care of my body really well.

Corum's longest run was just 12 yards, but he still averaged 5.8 yards per carry and gave credit to the entire offense for the success on the ground. I have the best offensive line in the country. Corum said that when everyone is dominating, it allows him to have success. There were no long ones, but it was still tough. For sure, it was tough. There are a lot of runs in the middle.

Michigan has won another game because of that success. Harbaugh has a chance to reflect on the time and effort his team has put in to turn the program around, even though the season is not over.

The team has put in a lot of work. Harbaugh said that a lot of guys have done a lot of work. Along the way, some guys have been injured. A lot of hard work has been done and we want to keep going. It was important for them to continue their winning ways.
