One of the best ways to get aerial photos of some of the world's most picturesque destinations is by using drones, many of which are equipped with cameras. Many travelers want to know if they can take drones on a cruise and if they can fly drones on a cruise ship.

Only three of the eight major cruise lines allow passengers to bring drones with them.

In certain cases, drones can be flown from the ship. Rules about how far drones must stay from buildings, vessels and restricted areas are part of the local regulations that must be followed by cruisers. The location might require a permit to use the drones. If passengers don't follow any of the regulations, they could be fined or have their drones seized.

There are a lot of cruise line drones.
