It is worth paying attention to when Jordan Peele cooks something up. Just this year alone, he delivered a fun, occasionally grim look at the Hollywood and entertainment culture machinery with Nope back in July, followed by his reunion with long-time partner, Keegan-Michael Key. Peele is following in the footsteps of several men before him who have suddenly realized they have a microphone and want to start a show.
The audio series Quiet Part Loud is being released by Monkeypaw productions. Tracy Letts is the voice of Rick Egan, a former right-wing radio host who spread rumors about a group of Muslim teenagers who went missing after 9/11. When he learns that one of the teens has suddenly reappeared, he goes on a search for answers and eventually crosses paths with a demonic, hate-feeding entity called The Blank.
Quiet Part Loud promises to be a haunting parable and an examination of the current state of fear and divisiveness in America. All three of his films, along with last year's Candyman, have been put under the genre of "social horror." It may take some people by surprise when they hear Quiet has a political bent. It is unlikely that this will be the last time that Peele and Monkeypaw work in the space.
Quiet Part Loud will premiere on the streaming service on November 15. Mac Rogers and Clay Chapman wrote the series.
