May 19 is a pop culture day. The television phenomenon that single-handedly revitalized the fantasy genre and redefined what "event television" means, aired to the collective disappointment of millions of fans. The train wreck that was season 8 was the beginning of the show's decline in quality. The world's greatest tv show was reduced to a sad shadow due to a rushed season that went out the window.

Game of thrones was stained by the controversial finale A franchise based on George R. R. Martin's World of Ice and Fire was one of the things that HBO was interested in. The reception of the episode put the network's plan in doubt, as many wondered if the Game of thrones brand was strong enough to support a franchise. The first spin-off starring Naomi Watts was axed even though it was a $30 million pilot, spelling doom for the would-be franchise. House Targaryen was still an ace, but not all was lost.
The obvious is that Daenerys Targaryen was the most important player in the game of thrones. The perfect hero for audiences to root for, the easy character to like and support, was the one who was named Daenerys. Dany rose above her initial situation and became a messianic figure.
Dany was the ultimate champion of the show because she had real power and wasn't afraid to use it. She was an inspiring but ruthless character who had everything needed to take the Iron Throne.
There were dragons in the house. The dragons were very important to the success of the show. The best fantasy stories have at least one dragon from Smaug to Saphira. Dragons represent the power and enchanting nature of their fascinating and reality-breaking worlds. Game of thrones was political but dragons elevated it to the top of pop culture
The Game of thrones season 8 E6 features a speech by the queen of dragons.
Many fans considered character assassination when they thought about the end of GoT. Dany was a fierce and ruthless woman, but she was never cruel or stupid; her actions during the show's final episode, "The Bells," were both. Even though she had signs of the Targaryen madness, she was never the Mad Queen.
It was necessary for GoT to have more time and patience to make her descent into tyranny a success. The most egregious crime of the show was the nerfing of the dragons. The show undermined itself by not supporting the dragons.
Game of thrones would be saved by dragons. The show messed up the Targaryen storyline and caused a lot of damage to the reputation of the company. If D&D killed the Targaryens, they'd be resurrected. The Targaryens should be the focus of a spinoff. Martin has spent a lot of time expanding the story of the dragon's house. The choice of the Dance of the Dragons as the main focus of the spin-off was a clear sign that HBO understood GoT and wasn't planning on repeating them.
The Dance of Dragons has more than political conflict and fascinating characters, it has dragons as well. There was a lot of them. Many fans doubted that The Dance would ever get an adaptation because of how expensive it would be. The dragon battles will make the loot train attack seem like a kid's play.
Dany used her children in battle before the game of thrones began. House of the Dragon does not take long to introduce its dragons. The first season sets the stage and main players but saves the best for later. The show gave hints that it could pull off the most important battles.
The finale, "The Black Queen," was the only thing that made us believe in House of the Dragon. The four-minute scene was a success. The possibilities for dragon battles down the line were endless if the show could do this much.
The dance of the dragons is a story about female rage The source of the conflict is made of two women and it has an abundance of men. There was a need for a powerful female character to drive the future of the series. Two were found in the dance of the dragons.
The characters on the page are intriguing. The sheer scope of Fire & Blood makes it difficult for Martin to fully explore the inner workings of any of his characters. The idea of Rhaenyra and Alicent is that they are ideas rather than full-blooded characters. This approach doesn't allow them to be as interesting as she was.
The house of the dragon changed that. The show turned Rhaenyra and Alicent into figures full of agency and layers. The show portrays them as friends-turned-rivals with conflicting feelings for each other instead of being portrayed as bitter enemies. The basic storylines of House of the Dragon are turned into more sympathetic figures. How could it not when it was mistreated?
There was a problem with its women. The show put women through hell and back before allowing them to win. The House of the Dragon doesn't accept this approach. Previous female characters in the franchise did not have the freedom that Rhaenyra has. She spends most of the season dealing with the consequences of her choices, but that doesn't mean she can't make them. The show allows us to see and appreciate her strengths and weaknesses and never condemns her.
Alicent gets a genuine and compelling reason for her actions. Alicent lives up to the legacy of GoT, crafting some of the most engaging villains in today's television. Alicent is one of the best characters in House of the Dragon due to her journey and vulnerability. Television needs more complex antiheroines that dismantle the stereotype of a strong female character, and Alicent and Rhaenyra do just that. They are trying to avenge the Mother of Dragons.
House of the Dragon was able to give fans hope, something they didn't already have. We used to be against the idea of GoT spin-offs, but now we are in favor of the idea. Things are different now than they were before, but we have faith again. The world of ice and fire was celebrated by the House of the Dragon. It is the best part of the franchise without the bad vibes of GoT.
House of the Dragon opened a door that Game of thrones accidentally closed and invited us to demand more stories. There is a Sea Snake spin-off. That's right! Is there a show about PrincessNymeria? Why didn't it happen? There is a sequel to Jon Snow. I suppose. The Dunk and Egg stories are popular. Bring it on, it is supposed to happen eventually. The Bloodmoon spin-off needs to be resuscitated.
The House of the Dragon made people want to watch it. It reminded us of the power and complexity of Martin's world and made him famous. It restored the fractured legacy of the show. The finale of one of the best shows of all time, "The Iron Throne", is a bad chapter in an ongoing story. A semicolon is not a period. Television is the best because of it.
