It's cool to watch rockets in action. Tell the residents of the town that they have to listen to them all the time.

The town of Trent Hills, Ontario has a facility for SpaceRyde, but it hasn't been getting a lot of attention. The office has a 1 star rating from a single review that states that the facility is "really noisy" and that the quality of life of nearby residents is negatively affected.

The reviewer isn't the only one who thinks that way. A town with a population of only 13,000 has signed a Change.org petition demanding that SpaceRyde stop its rocket testing.

The petition claims that anyone in the vicinity can hear the sound. Pets are distressed and horses are bolting. There is a disruption of wildlife. It says that people's safety is at risk because of the sudden noise.

According to Trent Hills Now, the town has asked SpaceRyde to stop testing rocket engines.

According to the newspaper, the mayor says that the testing happened without his knowledge.

Blown Out

SpaceRyde was quiet about the complaints.

The head of marketing for the company told Space.com that a lot has happened since the petition was posted.

According to Trent Hills Now, Sohrab Haghighat claimed that the tests are never louder than 100 decibels, which is comparable to a semi-truck's engine.

They inform locals before the tests are done.

She said at the open house that the site has generated noise for 200 seconds out of 52 million seconds.

Hopefully the two parties can work out a solution.
