Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

There were 23 nights from November 8 to December 8. The Magic Kingdom will become a holiday celebration for those with party tickets when it closes at 6 p.m.

If you don't have a ticket to the party, you'll have to leave the park before the party starts. You will need your rest for the evening activities if you chill at the resort a day before you head to the Magic Kingdom.

The Magic Kingdom opens at 4 p.m. for the Christmas party. The party starts at 7 pm and gives you a couple of hours to enjoy rides without missing any of the themed party fun.

Buy Very Merry tickets in advance

If you know you want to go, don't hesitate to buy tickets.

Most of the parties are sold out with just a few nights left. As soon as the party dates are announced, you should add to cart. You should be aware that Christmas at Disney World is very popular. Do it if you can avoid weekends and holidays.

We hope to never go to Disney World during the week of Christmas and New Years.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party tickets cost a lot. The prices are more than a daytime ticket to the park. To find out which party nights are the most popular, you can check the prices online. It's a good idea to go on a weekday night early in the season to enjoy smaller crowds and cheaper prices.

Christmas treats included

Several different included treats are handed out at various points in the Magic Kingdom during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party.

During the after-hours version of the party that happened during the center of the Pandemic, there were ice cream, soda, and popcorn treats.

It’s about the shows, not rides, but ...

There are parades, castle show, and treats at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. You can dance at Club Tinsel, sample all the treats, check out the holiday decorations without a lot of people, and wait for some of the rides to come back.

SUMMER HULL/THE POINTS GUY

One of the rides you may not want to miss is the holiday themed Jingle Cruise. There will be "seasonal jams" on the rides at the Disney theme park.

SUMMER HULL/THE POINTS GUY

If you want, you can make reservations until the park closes.

Since this was the only day of the trip for the family, I started stacking the Lightning Lanes. We knocked out a lot of rides in the first two hours when I started to reserve them. It may or may not be worth it to spend the money on that.

As the party gets going and the night gets later, many rides will have waits in the 0-15 minute range, but if you have younger kids or don't want to stay up late, use the first few hours.

SUMMER HULL/THE POINTS GUY

Go to the 1st parade if you aren’t sure you can stay up late

It's a good idea to go to the late parade during the Christmas party because not everyone will want to stay up late.

If you want to be in the first parade, you should line up before 8pm. Getting a seat in the parade on Main Street U.S.A. requires getting there early.

SUMMER HULL/THE POINTS GUY

Don’t miss the fireworks show

The fireworks display for mickey's very merry christmas is amazing.

It is one of the best fireworks shows I have ever seen. Don't leave before 10 p.m. if you aren't going to stay awake for the entire party. I wouldn't attend the party this year if you can't stay up that late to see the holiday display.

SUMMER HULL/THE POINTS GUY

The show will put you in a festive mood with music, projections, fireworks and the best display that money can buy.

Is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party worth it?

A family of four can easily spend over $700 for the evening party. Is that worth it for the fun? If you're already dealing with Disney pricing for your trip, it's worth it.

You have to be able to stay up NationMaster NationMaster NationMaster NationMaster or it isn't worth it. Skip it if you can't be in the park from 4 to 10:30 p.m.

SUMMER HULL/THE POINTS GUY

If it can be used as a theme park ticket, it is more worth it. If you pay for a single-day ticket to the parks instead of the regular one, you can add $30 to your daily total, and it can be worth it.

You need to go to the parades and fireworks and do all the party things.

If you only want rides, then don't buy this expensive ticket. There are better ways to avoid lines at Disney if you are on a budget than spending money on a ticket. I absolutely adore this party year after year and am always happy to be a part of it.

Where to see Christmas decorations at Disney World

The last Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party transformed the Magic Kingdom into a holiday paradise. It takes a little longer for the decorations to go around the entire Disney World property, but by mid-November there are usually holiday decor at every turn.

Main Street, U.S.A. is a Disney World Christmas decor highlight. The Magic Kingdom has over 5,000 feet of garlands, 40 Christmas trees, and 147 wreathes.

You can buy gingerbread at the Grand Floridian if you stop by to see the decorations, but be prepared for a long wait as it is quite popular.

SUMMER HULL/THE POINTS GUY

There is a Christmas Tree Stroll at Disney Springs. It's possible to find all 20 that come with a surprise at the end.

It's usually 85 degrees in Central Florida during the holiday season, but Disney magic makes it snow during the holidays. It is possible to play in the snow on Main Street, U.S.A. and Sunset Boulevard while at Disney World. The Tower of Terror has been transformed with festive lights and projections.

SUMMER HULL/THE POINTS GUY

Hollywood Studios has a frozen sing-along where it snows indoors. During the holidays, there's a finale with the snowman.

Enjoy a holiday-themed meal

A good way to enjoy Christmas at Disney World without having to wait in line is to make a dining reservation at a restaurant that is open for the holidays. You can sit down and eat while the characters are coming to you. There is a chance that Minnie's Seasonal Dining is in Hollywood Studios.

This isn't one of the best restaurants at Disney World, but with the Fab Five characters all dressed in holiday attire, it's a fun choice.

SUMMER HULL/THE POINTS GUY

We used to enjoy crab legs, peel-and- eat shrimp, shrimp macaroni and cheese, and more from the buffet, along with the characters in their holiday best. Hugs are back at Disney World.

Meet Santa at Disney

It makes sense that Santa comes to Disney at certain times of the year. Disney has a new system to make it easier for children to meet Santa at the park.

Santa can be found at Disney Springs at 9 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Santa's outpost can be found behind the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe if you attend the Very Merry Christmas Party.

Epcot Candlelight Processional

30, a celebrity narrator leads the telling of the Christmas nativity story, and a live orchestra and choir make the holidays come alive within the America Gardens Theatre.

DISNEY

If you book a Candlelight Processional dining package, you will be guaranteed seating. If you are ok with lines and gambling, you should do this. The prices for the dining and seat packages are dependent on the meal and restaurant.

Garden Grill and Rose & Crown Dining Room are two of our favorites at Disney World. The Biergarten Restaurant is an entertaining place for a holiday meal. There are some day-of packages for less at the two locations.

There are narrators in the processional.

  • Simu Liu: Nov. 25 to Nov. 26.
  • Chita Rivera: Nov. 27 to Nov. 29.
  • Raul Esparza: Nov. 30 to Dec. 1.
  • Whoopi Goldberg: Dec. 2 to Dec. 3.
  • Isabella Rossellini: Dec. 4 to Dec. 6.
  • Daymond John: Dec. 7 to Dec. 9.
  • Josh Gad: Dec. 10 to Dec. 12.

  • Angela Bassett: Dec. 29 to Dec. 30.

The processional is free to guests at the theme park. A seat is guaranteed by buying a package. You have to have a theme park ticket and park pass for this one. This is something that may not appeal to younger children.

There are great restaurants to eat at Disney World.

The best time to visit Disney World at Christmas

The good news is that it gets busy at Disney during the holiday season. Waits for rides can be as long as five hours in pre-pandemic times.

When the parks are busiest during the holidays will be known by common sense. There's a weeklong school break in New Jersey in November when there's a thing called Jersey Week. The week before Thanksgiving and the first two weeks of December are less busy times if you want to plan for the future.

The Epcot Candlelight Processional starts in November and runs through December. Most of the Christmas decorations are up and the after-hours Christmas Party is in full swing by mid-November.

The Point's Gully is named after Summer HULL.

Bottom line

Christmas at Disney World is one of the highlights of the year.

Spending a few days late in the year at Disney World can really jump start the holiday cheer, as we have gone during the holiday season every year for the last few years. There is too much to see and do on a single visit, which is fine.
