NFL commish says 'at least' four Germany games through 2025

More regular-season games may be played in Germany sooner than expected.

The league will stage at least four games in Germany through the year 2025, according to the commissioner.

Sunday's first game in Germany and an annual game over the next three seasons are included in the current agreement.

"We are going to play the next four years, at least, and with at least four games," he said. I wouldn't be surprised if it expanded further.

The commissioner didn't take questions from the media, but his comments indicate that the New England and Kansas City teams are lobbying for the game.

There are questions about when Azteca Stadium will be open. The San Francisco 49ers will play at Azteca in November, and it is possible that the stadium will be renovated in time for the World Cup.

Germany has become the top market in Europe for the National Football League and the game on Sunday will feature seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady.
