Can the 49ers offense help deliver a victory vs. the Chargers? (0:45)

Field Yates believes that a well-rested 49ers offense will help the team to win. There is a time and a place for this.

The team and the defensive lineman were no longer compatible, according to the Bolts' coach.

It is best for both people to move on in a relationship.

With a win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at Levi's Stadium, the Bolts will be in the playoffs for the first time in over a year.

Mack said that it was unfortunate that Tillery had been released. I don't think I've been a part of that in the middle of the season in the National Football League. At the same time, he's a talented player, so he's going to be able to ball out and do his thing.

The quarterback called it unfortunate.

Herbert said he was a good friend. That's a coach's decision." The front office makes that decision.

The fifth-year option on the rookies contract was not picked up by the Bolts.

He played in seven games but did not start. He forced a fumbled ball.

There were multiple offers for Tillery before the trade deadline, but they weren't enough to interest the Bolts.

Over the past week, there were disagreements between the coaching staff and front office, as well as between Tillery and some of his teammates. The Bolts decided to move on after the situation began to affect several areas of the organization.

Since the trade deadline, there have been competing visions for the role and it became clear that it wasn't going to be a good fit. We were not going to be compatible with Jerry and where he was trying to go.

During the game against the Atlanta Falcons, defensive lineman Austin Johnson suffered a season-ending knee injury after being inactive for the game due to a back issue.

It was thought that Tillery would be the solution to replace Johnson in Week 10, but that wasn't the case.

"We felt we were going to give the two of them a chance to compete and where we're at, trying to do with our team, our defensive line, our defense, our whole team." We want to do that. We had to make a change when those things didn't work out.

With five interior linemen currently on the roster, including Sebastian Joseph-Day, Morgan Fox, Christian Covington, and Fehoko, it's not clear how the team will compensate for the loss of Johnson and Tillery.

The unit has been particularly bad at defending the run, allowing 5.7 yards per carry, which is the worst in the league.

Teams will be able to claim Tillery on Monday.

In 54 games, Tillery recorded over 10 sacks.
