  • Google and Spotify announce the official rollout of User Choice Billing on Android.
  • The streaming service announces the new payment gateway in select countries.
  • Dating app Bumble is also set to join the program.

A new in-app purchasing experience has been introduced by the two companies. User Choice Billing was announced as a pilot program in March and is now arriving to users in a few countries.

It means that device owners will be able to choose between two payments for their subscription. Users of the music service are familiar with the traditional payment system. The second method can be used to pay for things on the internet. Whenever users want to try out the premium service, there will be two options on the screen.

The new system will be expanded in the coming weeks.

The UCB program has recently added a dating app called Bumble. In the coming months, the companies expect Bumble to be implemented.

Only non- gaming apps are allowed to join the program. Details about the eligibility, requirements, and interim guidelines for the non-gaming apps will be shared by the search giant.

Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, and the European Economic Area were to be the first countries where the pilot would be rolled out. The pilot is being expanded to users in the US, Brazil, and South Africa.
