During the first eight weeks of the season, the San Francisco 49ers dealt with a lot of injury news.

The Niners got a lot of good news on the injury front Friday, as they will welcome back eight players who missed San Francisco's game against the Rams.

Among the players who will play on Sunday night are wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who is hampered by ahame, and Jauan Jennings, who is hampered by ahame. According to Kyle Shanahan, four players will return from knee injuries that landed them on injured reserve.

The Niners have three open roster spots and will get a fourth when they place Verrett on injured reserve.

With so many key players back, the Niners believe they can make a run at the playoffs.

"This is the grind of the season right now, the stretch we're about to go on, and we need all our weapons," Warner said. It's great to see people you know. They're going to be needed.

The offense's first chance to see how things look will come when Samuel and recently acquired running back Christian McCaffrey work in tandem with a skill position group that also includes tight end George Kittle and wide receiver.

"It's crazy how much power we have in this offense with the addition of McCaffrey," Samuel said. It is going to get crazy. It's going to be difficult to cover everyone, and it should be fun.

Post-bye reinforcements will help the defense. The return of Al-Shaair and Greenlaw means the 49ers' primary LB trio will be together again.

Al-Shaair's return comes a bit earlier than anticipated, but he said Monday that he was feeling good and ahead of schedule.

Al-Shaair thought it would be eight weeks. Up front, you are usually conservative. I was doing a lot better than they thought when I saw where each person went. I was able to return to the area.

The bad news for the Niners is that they will be without defensive tackle Arik Armstead, who was ruled out on Friday, for the rest of the year. The defensive end is questionable.

The Niners know how important it is to give other people a chance to be on the field. The Niners are still in the playoffs and other players have the chance to play.

It helps a lot, that's for sure. It puts you in a bind. Losing guys give other people the chance to grow because they have to go through things. Sometimes the only way to get better is to go out there and get kicked and realize what you have to do in this league. It can make your team stronger if you don't set your team back.
