Customers of the solar roof program have been left without a bag as the EV automaker says it's nixing operations in many markets.
The degree to which the program hasn't taken off is underscored by the cancellation. According to Elecktrek's estimates, the company only installed solar roofs on around 300 houses in the second quarter of 2022.
Some customers of the company have been told that their orders are being canceled.
"After further review of your project, our team has determined that your home is in an area we no longer service," the email said. We have processed your cancellation as we can't complete your order at this time.

According to the outlet, there have been layoffs in the solar scheduling, planning, and design department.

I told everyone that they needed to work on the Model 3 program instead of working on solar. He said that solar suffered as a result.
In the year before, Musk admitted that he had changed his mind about pushing out more cars.
It's not too surprising that the CEO seems to have no fear in changing it multiple times, considering that Musk bought it with the intention of bailing out his cousins.
