Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp
Klopp said he deserved his red card for the way he confronted the assistant referee

After the Football Association appealed against the sanction he received for his sending off against Manchester City, it was decided that he would be suspended for one match.

An independent regulatory commission fined the manager.

The written reasons were reviewed by the FA.

The ban will be in place during Saturday's home game against Saints.

In the win against City, the Reds boss was sent off for berating the referee's assistant when a foul was not given for a challenge on the forward.

The German apologized in his post match comments.

The FA rule E3 states that "comments which are improper, which bring the game into disrepute, which are threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting" are covered by the charge.

An independent appeal board has allowed the FA's appeal against an independent regulatory commission's sanction.

The manager of the club has been suspended from the touchline for one match and has been fined and warned as to his future conduct.

"During their match against Manchester City FC on October 16th, the FA Rule E3 was broken and the team received a sanction of 30,000 dollars."

The charity that represents referees called for an inquiry into the behavior of managers after a number of incidents.

According to Ref Support UK, such behavior is being replicated in the grassroots game and perpetuates the idea that it is okay to do it.

Hundreds of players and coaches were banned last season for attacking or threatening referees.
