You will not be able to earn cash back on fuel rewards if you choose to do so. The value of American Airlines miles is 1.77 cents per mile. It is possible to get more value from your American Airlines miles if you know how to maximize them. The miles you earn will count towards loyalty points, making this even more attractive for those chasing American elite status

2 miles per dollar is earned by both the Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite Mastercard® and the Citi Business® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® Mastercard®. You will earn American Airlines miles more quickly if you use these cards.

You can earn 3 Citi ThankYou points for every dollar you spend with the Citi premier card. If you spend $4,000 on the card in the first three months, the card will give you 80,000 bonus points. Air travel, hotels, supermarket spending, and at restaurants will earn you 3 points per dollar.

Southwest is a part of the Make It Count rewards program. If you fill up at Marathon or Arco, you'll get 1 Southwest point for every gallon.

Southwest points are worth 1.5 cents each, according to a report. Every point helps to get you closer to your next free vacation, so that's not an earth-shattering return for your gas spending. Southwest points can be earned for purchases you would make anyway if you sign up for Make It Count.

Southwest RapidRewards points can be earned.

If you want to earn hotel points, the MakeItCount program is a good choice. If you know how to use them, they can be useful.
