Jack Eichel ran into an ex when the Vegas Golden Knights played the Buffalo Sabres for the second time.

The former Sabres captain was traded to the Golden Knights in November. He was booed by his former supporters when he had zero points in Vegas' loss at the KeyBank Center.

The return trip was not as rowdy as the first one.

The Golden Knights defeated the Sabres 7-4. Vegas has won nine games in a row. This time, he seemed to enjoy playing the role of the villain.

Last year, he didn't know what to expect. I had an emotional connection to this city. I knew what I was going to get when I arrived. I was trying to use the energy.

It's not the first time that Eichel has faced an old team.

LeBron James in Cleveland, 2010

The writers of "game of thrones" did not take long to jeered as a villain.

The environment was combative as King James came back to Cleveland for the first time as a member of the Miami Heat. The betrayal of feelings, disappointment and vitriol directed at him were tangible in the arena.

He was one of the most popular sports figures in town. The city he left for South Beach had its hopes and dreams resting on his shoulders.

There were boos and obscenities coming from former fans. Some of them threw things, such as beverages and a battery, while others held signs with slogans such as "Quitness," "Witnessed No Championship," and "I Hate King James." Four fans were ejected and one was arrested.

King James scored 38 points to lead the Heat to a 118-90 victory.

The Larry O'Brien trophy would be awarded to the player who regained Cleveland's love with the most points.

It was from favored son to public enemy number one. When he returned to Nationals Park for the first time, he didn't get a warm reception from the fans.

The fans booed him during the tribute video and then cheered when he was struck out in his first at-bat. After the game, the heckling didn't sit well withHarper as he called fans out for crossing the line.

Some will argue that the reception was unimportant asHarper went to the highest bidder, while others will argue that loyalty should count.

After he left, the Nationals won the World Series.

The Golden State Warriors are playing the Oklahoma CityThunder. Since King James was hounded for "The Decision", no departure had caused such a commotion.

You don't have to go to Oklahoma City to see how much Kevin Durant meant to the city, the guy even had a restaurant named after him, which reopened after he left.

KD was not welcomed in a friendly way. He was booed when he was introduced and when he touched the ball. A lot of cupcake signs were present. One fan is dressed as a cupcake.

The divorce from his former teammate and friend, Russell Westbrook, made things worse. During the game, things got chippy between the ex-duo. At one point during the game, he yelled "I'm coming!".

As the Warriors secured a dominant 130-114 victory, Durant dropped 34 points and grabbed nine rebound. He said after the game that he thought it would be a little louder, but it was enjoyable.

Deion Sanders in Atlanta, 1994

The city of Atlanta was angry at Deion after he signed with the San Francisco 49ers. Falcons players said he demanded preferential treatment after he left. "Prime Time" means "part time" because the Atlanta Braves and the Falcons split time with each other.

Rather than being ridiculed during his return to the Georgia Dome, he made a point of taunting the Falcons fans.

Prime Time made a change. The man put on a show. It wasn't enough to high-step the final 40 yards into the end zone on a 93-yard interception return, so he turned sideways and flashed a big grin toward the Atlanta bench.

He flourished when they booed.

The 49ers went on to win by a large margin.

It's fair in love and baseball, but it's not fair to leave Boston for New York. It's not possible to do it. You will get reprimanded for it.

One of the most heated rivalries in sports is not something to be taken lightly. The fans in Boston still hated him even though he helped bring the World Series to Boston.

He left to sign a four-year contract with New York that was worth $12 million more than what Boston offered and many of them threw fake and real dollar bills on the warning track.

"There's no way I can go play for the Yankees, but I know they're going to come after me hard, so I joined the Yankees," he said. The Yankees are going to offer me a lot of things, but it's not the most important one. I don't need it.

Jaromir Jagr in Pittsburgh, 2001

The bitter taste in the mouths of many Pens fans was caused by the fact that Jaromir Jagr didn't see a future with the team. More than that, it was the way in which he left the team that got him booed when he touched the puck at the arena.

Jagr went through a slump during the 2000-01 season. Jagr's rocky relationship with Ivan Hlinka, the return of Mario Lemieux from retirement, and the inability of the Pens to pay him the big bucks would probably have caused both parties to move on. He said before he was traded to the Washington Caps that he felt like he was dying. I don't feel like I'm at home. Right now, it isn't the same for me. We don't know what will happen. I might be thinking about retirement soon.

His threat to retire at the age of 28 didn't bode well for his relationship with the team or its fans.

Alex Rodriguez in Seattle, 2001

It is always about money in baseball. It was a rhetorical question.

Alex Rodriguez decided to leave Seattle because of a pay day. The Texas Rangers signed Rodriguez to a 10-year, $252 million contract in the off-season, after he decided to leave the SeattleMariners and join the team. It was the most lucrative contract in sports history.

Rodriguez was booed by the fans as he came up for his first at-bat. The crowd at Safeco Field booed loudly and persistently.

The game ended in a tie.

Vince Carter in Toronto, 2005

Vince Carter has a complicated relationship with Toronto. The former Raptors player was traded to the New Jersey Nets in December of 2004. There were rumors that he stopped giving his all.

The Raptors' faithful didn't like the idea of Vinsanity quitting on the team. The disappointing return from the trade of Alonzo Mourning, as well as the disappointing return from Eric Williams and two first-round draft picks, only made the situation worse.

Carter was booed by the sold-out crowd when he returned to Toronto in a New Jersey uniform in 2005.

Carter scored 39 points to lead the Nets to a 101-90 victory. He would perform well in The Six for a long time.

Eric Lindros in Philadelphia, 2002

Lindros was a member of the PhiladelphiaFlyers before things fell apart. He sustained his sixth concussion of his career in the Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals. Lindros missed the rest of the 2000-01 season after being cleared to play again.

Lindros was sent to the Rangers. Even though he insisted that his qualms in Philadelphia had only been with the owner and general manager, the fans of theFlyers didn't take kindly to his actions and made sure he was aware when he came back to Philadelphia.

Terrell Owens in Philadelphia, 2006

As soon as he joined the Dallas Cowboys, the love for him quickly turned to loathing. The fans hated their former star who joined the rival team.

Owens, who was released by the Eagles and picked up by the Dallas Cowboys, was given a warm welcome back to Philadelphia. The city of Philadelphia was not insulated from the T.O. hype surrounding the game.

T.O's fans had invested so much in him that they turned on him even more. Owens joked in the week before the game that the crowd could throw anything at him.

It never came to that as T.O. didn't have a chance to celebrate. He was held to three catches for 45 yards.
