Mark Wood is in a race against time to be fit for the T20 World Cup final.

Wood did not play in Thursday's semi-final due to a hip injury.

He has been the fastest bowler in the tournament and has taken nine wickets in four matches for England.

Wood said he tried his best to make the last game but he couldn't bowl fast enough.

He said that he couldn't get his hip moving. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it right for this game.

If the captain needs me and I'm fit enough, I'll put my name in the hat.

Wood averaged 92.6mph in his four overs against Afghanistan, breaking the record for the fastest spell in white ball cricket.

It is believed that batter Dawid Malan, who missed the victory over India with a groin injury, is not likely to be fit.

"There isn't a lot of time for them", but "I would like to maintain a bit of hope".

During England's away series against Pakistan in September and October, Wood took six wickets in two matches.

He is in England's Test squad for the series in Pakistan and his injury is of concern.

His ability to bowl at high pace is important in Pakistan.

Wood was struggling to walk so the pair had to use an electric scooter to get to their hotel for breakfast.
