The Wall Street Journal covers a trend in younger people joining AARP to take advantage of discounts as effective ways of saving money become more focal in an era of inflation.
A rite of passage for those 50 and older, an AARP membership also is drawing younger folks determined to get discounts to cope with inflation. They shamelessly flash their cards at restaurants, often confusing the wait staff and amazing and embarrassing their friends and family.
…An AARP spokeswoman said the organization is seeing a definite uptick in younger members but won’t share specific member demographic data.
Many of the same deals can be received by anyone 13 and older. According to the website, it is never too late to sign up.
The hotels have rates for people over the age of 50. 10% discounts are offered by some restaurants, but they don't actually check your age, and you can get those discounts with an AARP card.

I'm an older person. My age is 41 years old. I don't agree with the organization's policies. I joined because I could get discounts. British Airways offers the most useful discount.

British Airways has great deals on cabin travel. I am not a fan of the BA product but they run sales frequently and when the price is reduced by the AARP discount, I joined.
In airlines.
New York, Atlanta, Boston, Miami, Philadelphia, Toronto, or Washington DC will get you to Tel Aviv on British Airways for about $2,000 round-trip in business class.
