The Los Angeles Lakers' loss to the LA Clippers on Wednesday did not cause a tear in the groin of their star player, according to an exam.

James is a day-to-day issue, according to Darvin Ham. He is listed as doubtful for the game against the Kings due to a left adductor strain.

The biggest thing is that he didn't tear anything. It was positive news. I'm pretty sure it hurts. I'm just happy there wasn't any damage.

As difficult as the start of the season has been for the Lakers, there is at least one silver lining.

The Lakers play at home against the Kings and Nets on Friday and Sunday, respectively, and then don't play again until November 18th against the Pistons. If James took eight days off to rehabilitate his injury, he wouldn't miss a game.

James missed 17 straight games in his first season with the Lakers because of a left groin tear and eventually shut things down before the end of the season to enter into offseason rehabilitation.

James said his current pain is not as bad as it was four years ago.

Despite the challenge of facing his team, Ham was optimistic.

"People get caught up in just wanting to be mean because you're having a little slippage or you're dropping a few games." I am not built that way. I am not wired that way. I want to look at the positives, look at the negatives, and ask how can we correct it. How can we keep it going? We are trying to get better as a team by putting it out there.

We don't do that." We try to get better each day.

When reporters were allowed in at the end of Thursday's practice, James wore a sleeve on his left leg and a slipper on his left foot.

He wouldn't talk to the media.

James took to social media to address the five-game suspension that Nets guard Kyrie Irving is serving for promoting a documentary that contained misinformation and antisemitic tropes and then being reticent to apologize for his actions.

the floor I think is excessive IMO. He's not the person that's being portrayed of him. Anyways back to my rehab session.

Irving will be suspended for five games if he doesn't fulfill a number of requirements outlined by the Nets.

James criticized Irving for sharing the documentary.

James thought it was unfortunate that he caused some harm. I don't want to hurt people when it comes to your voice or platform. It doesn't matter what color your skin is or how tall you are. I don't respect anything you say or do that harms anyone. I do not approve of it.

After the five-game suspension period for Irving is over, the Nets will play their first game of the season against the Lakers.
