The announcement by Adidas that it will sell designs without the name of West should be money to the rapper. He has that in writing, but he isn't getting anything. There is a clause in the contract that calls for the rapper to get a reduced fee if Adidas sells his designs without his branding. When Adidas cut ties with Ye over his antisemitic and bigoted statements, it said it wouldn't pay him a cent. It was before Wednesday's announcement that Adidas would release some of Ye's shoes in 2023. The German shoe company was asked if it would pay the reduced fee. Adidas could easily say that Ye's hate speech was a violation of their deal because of the morals clause in the contract. We need to read the tea leaves to find out what Adidas is saying. Ye is going to have to tell a judge if he wants compensation for the shoe sales.
