The Washington Commanders are being sued by the Attorney General of the District of Columbia for consumer protection.

The civil complaint was announced at a news conference by the attorney general.

The team and league were accused of violating D.C. consumers' rights because they lied about what they knew.

Some of the history of the team's rebrand efforts include references to D.C. and the investigation into the organization's workplace culture.

One of the posters said that the results of the investigation could be trusted. The fans couldn't trust the results that were never made public because he tried to interfere multiple times. He had a veto.

The team was fined $10 million by the league for having a toxic workplace culture. The final poster said that fans' outrage increased when it was clear that they had been lied to. Consumer spending decisions were affected by that.

Both the Commanders and the NFL have engaged in deception and lies to conceal the team's decades of sexual harassment and abuse.

The Commanders were caught by surprise when the attorney general called a news conference.

The Commanders have cooperated with the AG's investigation for a long time. "As recently as Monday, a lawyer for the team met with the AG who did not suggest that he intended to take any action and, in fact, revealed fundamental misunderstandings of the underlying facts."

The attorneys general of D.C. and Virginia are investigating the team. There is no timetable for when Mary Jo White's review on behalf of the league will be finished.

Bank of America Securities will be looking into selling part or all of the team. The organization that Forbes values at $5.6 billion is being explored.
