Although the Dallas Cowboys are currently two games behind the Philadelphia Eagles in theNFC East, Jimmy Johnson thinks his former team is in a good position to win the division.
The Eagles might be headed for a downturn according to Johnson, who said on The Fan that this is the best Cowboys team that he has seen.
Jon Machota @jonmachotaJimmy Johnson on @1053thefan on the Cowboys as a Super Bowl contender: “I think this is the best Cowboys team that I’ve seen. … I’m still not 100% sold on Philadelphia. The NFC is down. I think the Cowboys have a better shot than most.”

It has been a theme for Philadelphia. The Eagles score a lot early on but lose steam as the game goes on.
In Week 6 of the season, Dallas and Philly played each other and the Cowboys were down 20-3 at the half. The starting quarterback for Dallas was not present in that game. Cooper Rush started in his place.
The Cowboys might have lost to the Eagles if it weren't for Rush's three picks.
If Johnson's forecast is correct, the arcs of Dallas and Philadelphia's seasons may have changed by the 16th week of the season.
