  • Musk has stopped working from home at the micro-blogging site.

  • Musk told staff to work 40 hours a week.

  • The road ahead is difficult according to the email he sent to staff.

On Wednesday, Musk announced the end of remote work at the micro-blogging site.

Musk sent an email to his employees for the first time. The email was sent early in the morning. The email was reviewed by Insider and it was found to have a time stamp.

Employees will no longer be allowed to work remotely, according to the billionaire. According to the email, the staff was expected to be in the office for at least 40 hours a week.

The road ahead will require intense work, according to Musk.

The CEO of the two companies wrote in the email that there was no way to sugarcoat the message about the current economic climate and its impact on social media.

Insider asked for comment made outside of normal working hours, but did not hear back.

Insider said that employees noticed that the company's days of rest had been removed from their calendars.

A photo of a manager sleeping on the floor at its San Francisco headquarters was posted on the social media platform.

The letter was reported earlier by the news agency.

The full email was sent to employees.

There is no way to sugarcoat the message since it is my first email to the entire company.

The economic picture is dire for a company like ours that is so dependent on advertising. We are doubly vulnerable due to the fact that 70% of our advertising is brand.

Over the course of the past ten days, the priority has been to develop and launch a new subscription service for the social networking site. Without significant subscription revenue, there is a good chance that it won't survive. Half of our revenue needs to be subscriptions.

I am spending time with our sales and partnerships teams to make sure that we are appealing to advertisers. Today, Robin, Yoel and I hosted a space discussion.

It will take a lot of hard work to get the road ahead. Remote work is not allowed unless you have a specific exception. The exceptions lists will be sent to me by managers.

Everyone will have to be in the office for at least 40 hours a week. It's understandable if you can't travel to an office or have a personal obligation.

I can't wait to work with you to take it to the next level. The amount of potential is amazing.

Thank you.
