Mark Cuban said that the new paid-for verified accounts were annoying him.

"From one entrepreneur to another, for when you have your customer service hat on," said the billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks. I spent a lot of time trying to make my verified mentions useful again. I hope this helps.

Musk said it was working for him. We can make the verified mentions tab easier to use.

Cuban celebrated the billionaire's acquisition and said he was "looking forward to the Musk era" on his social media accounts.

After Musk took over, he set out plans to launch a subscription service costing $8 a month to give users a blue checkmark, the ability to post longer videos, priority for their posts and see less ads. Cuban supported the plan and Musk quoted him. It's up to you.

Politicians and celebrities criticized the plan.

That didn't stop the CEO of the two companies from doubling down on his plan to charge users who want to remain verified on the micro-messaging service.

"Maybe this is a stupid decision, but we'll see," Musk said on the call.
