  • Google is now accepting requests to join the public preview of the revamped Google Home app experience.
  • You can sign up by requesting an invite from within the Android or iOS app.
  • Google is asking early adopters to report any problems they encounter while using the new app.

People can sign up for the public preview of the Home app. You don't need to ask for an invite in the Home app on either device.

The new design of the Google Home app includes helpful tabs for gaining quick access to automation, as well as a refreshedUI. If it is live for you, you can sign up by going to Home's settings menu and searching for "Public Preview" under general.

Once accepted to the program, you'll get a notification that the app will be updated. Once the new features are ready to be used, you need to join the public preview.

You should expect a few bugs during the public preview. Bug reports and other feedback can be submitted using the "Submit feedback" button in the app.

"We invite you to explore the new app, test new features and give early feedback to help make the app even better," the representative wrote.

"Favorites" is a new feature that allows you to quickly open your favorite cameras if you launch the app. It has "Spaces" for quick access to groups of similar devices.

There are a few issues that are open in the new tab. It is not possible to like your automations at the moment. The ability is limited to your devices. The new camera controller experience doesn't currently support older cameras, and the redesign of the app isn't compatible with some older devices.

The app may return to the old experience after being reinstalled. Subsequent starts will restore the public preview experience.
