World Cup 2022: Luke Harris and Jordan James to join Wales squad in Qatar as back-up

Harris and James are going to the World Cup as backups for Wales.

Neither player has made a senior appearance for Wales yet.

Unless other players withdraw before the first match of the World Cup, they won't be able to play.

Robert Page is taking James and Harris with the squad to get experience of being in a major tournament environment.

They were in the last camp in the Nations League and we were impressed with them.

We need to have one eye on the future. We need to have one eye on the Euros in March.

I want to expose the two of them to the environment and see how they conduct themselves during the World Cup.

In the future, when the senior boys decide they're not going to play for Wales, it won't be too much of a culture shock.

The pair of them have impressed me. For them to travel with the squad and see how they conduct themselves on and off the pitch is going to be huge for us.
