President Joe Biden brushed aside a question about whether Republicans would investigate his family if they regained control of the House.
"Lots of luck in your senior year, as my coach used to say," Biden said when asked what he would tell the Republicans. The American public would like us to get things done for them.
All I can do is try to make life better for the American people, that's all I can do," Biden said.
A group of House Republicans have promised to investigate Biden's family if they regain control of the lower house. Control of the House is too close to call on Wednesday evening, so their hopes for a wave election are dashed. It's not clear who will control the Senate as no clear winner has yet emerged from Nevada and Arizona's contests, and a Democratic senator is in a race against a Republican.
I'm not sure if it's true or not, but it was reported many times that Republicans were saying how many times Biden would be impeached. Biden made a statement. It's almost comedy for the American people.
The president said at the news conference that he doesn't see the need to change his approach. Biden was optimistic that he could work with some Republicans.

Biden warned Republicans that he has a "pen that can veto" if they tried to force his hand. The president sounded positive that he could find areas of agreement with McCarthy.
He said he was hopeful that he and Kevin could work out a way to proceed with each other.
