President Biden said that it would be fun to see how Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis fare in the Republican presidential primary.

At a White House news conference, Biden was asked which of the two Republicans he thought would be a tougher challenger if he ran for reelection.

Biden said it would be enjoyable to watch them take on each other.

The former Republican governor of Florida, Charlie Crist, was defeated by the current Republican governor, Ron DeSantis. That strong showing, along with losses of candidates Trump strongly endorsed in the cycle, has renewed speculation that the stock in the Republican Party is on the rise.

Trump said last week that he would make a "major announcement" in November, which political observers assumed to mean that he would enter the race for the White House. It's not clear if the 44-year-old governor wants to take on Trump or if he's going to wait.

Trump is aware of the growing number of Republicans who are questioning whether he would be a better GOP nominee in the future.

Shouldn't it be said that I got more votes in Florida in 2020 than Ron D did this year? Is it just a question? A post was written by Trump to Truth Social.

In the news conference, Biden was asked if the declaration of Trump's candidacy would affect his decision on running.

Biden said that he intended to run again. I respect fate and this is a family decision. I think people want me to run, but we're going to have discussions about it, and I don't want to rush it.

Two-thirds of American voters don't think Biden should seek reelection, and this information may affect his decision to take on either Trump or another Republican.

He said that it does not.
