Middleton coy on reasons for Aitchison inclusion

New Zealand has never lost to England in a World Cup final.

In the most recent defeat, the Black Ferns came from behind to win the title.

With a clash of styles expected as England play a forwards focused game and New Zealand bring an unpredictable backline, England head coach Simon Middleton wanted to keep his game plan under wraps.

He said that Aitchison could offer certain things against New Zealand.

In the past three games, Heard has started at 12 and was replaced by Aitchison, who started against South Africa in the pool stage.

She will be missed after some stellar performances this World Cup, as she was moved to full-back after starting as his 12.

England won the Women's Six Nations Grand Slam in France in April and will hope that Scarratt and Aitchison can do the same in New Zealand.

Aitchison scored a try on his debut against the Black Ferns.

There is no bigger challenge in sport than to play the world champion in their own backyard in front of a sold out crowd.

Great teams don't fear those challenges, they embrace them and meet them head on.

Consistency is what New Zealand director of rugby Wayne Smith has chosen.

The only change to the side that beat France in the semi-finals is that of number eight Charmaine McMenamin.

The Black Ferns will once again have a formidable back three.

New Zealand: Demant, Cocksedge, Love, Ponsonby, Rule, and A Bremner.

The replacements were Simon, Bayler, Tubic, Leti-I'iga and Murray.
